Yoga Nidra translates to Yogic Sleep. It’s a deeply restful Yoga practice, and a very effective way to rest and restore. In this class, unlike others, you find a cosy spot to snuggle under your very own blanket. Bolsters and eye pillows make the experience extra comfortable.
With your eyes closed, the teacher will take you on a journey through what they say, and with periods of silence. You’ll take your attention into different areas of your body, and drift into a meditative state from there. In fact, Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation (just super comfy too!)
What are the benefits?
As you can tell, this isn’t like most other Yoga classes. It will not give you a workout, make you stronger, or more flexible. However it is a truly and deeply restful yoga practice! We have very busy lives in this age and it’s very easy to forget to take care of ourselves, which can lead to burnout, exhaustion, fatigue, increased stress levels. Nidra is a deeply restful meditation, a yoga sleep. It helps us to stop, slow down, take stock and restore. Students report entering a blissful state between wakefulness and sleeping, like a Yoga sleep. However if you’re generally fatigued or frazzled don’t be surprised if you end up napping! That’s okay, that’s what your body needs at that time. This Nidra Yoga relaxation technique has been found to reduce tension and anxiety, and help people sleep better at home.
Can anyone do it?
Yes, again anyone can do it. In fact it can really benefit a big majority of today’s population. However, if you are currently dealing with mental health issues, seizure disorders or might be pregnant then it’s worth speaking to the teacher beforehand to make sure it can be of benefit to you.

If you find you’re constantly tired, stressed, fatigued, exhausted, try a Nidra class. It can deeply restore and bring along a lot of benefits.
